New York's Hunter Mountain
A two-and-a-half hour drive from Manhattan, and one hour
south of Albany, Hunter Mountain is an easy escape for sports enthusiasts and
nature lovers.
An Escape For Any Season
Hunter Mountain's ski area has a vertical drop of 1,600 feet and you'll
ski ride over 230 acres on 53 trails with more variety than you
can handle in a day or two or
more.
The lifts are fast, with a carrying capacity
of nearly 15,500 skiers per hour. Hunter promises powder every day with its
prodigious snow-making capabilities.
In the summer time hiking,
mountain-biking, fishing, camping, golfing, and fishing are the popular outdoor
activities. The mountain opens for mountain biking on the first of July every
year.
Hunter Mountain Skyride
The 5500 foot long Skyride takes you up 1600 vertical feet to the summit
elevation of 3200 feet above sea level.
From this commanding vista you can see the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts,
the Green Mountains in Vermont, and the beautiful Catskill as you've never seen
them.
