Universal Studios Escape
Universal
Studios' Escape
By Louise
Weiss
Florida's Universal
Studios has two new attraction for you to enjoy and experience.
Portofino Bay
Shines
Portofino Bay is a
completely authentic replica of the picturesque Italian resort town overlooking
the Mediterranean. Pastel-colored buildings of random height and individual
design curve around a harbor dotted with small craft. Restaurants and shops open
onto a broad piazza with inviting unbrellaed tables.
Among the 750 rooms are
deluxe rooms, suites, and a villa complex with butler service and its own pool
area. Indoor and outdoor recreational facilities include a world-class spa,
supervised children's activity program, three swimming pools, and two bocce ball
courts. There is a full-service business center, four restaurants, a poolside
pizzeria, and several venues for light snacks. There are even upscale shops
featuring Italian imports.

Islands of
Adventure
Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure is an all-new theme park
where the Port of Entry, a bustling marketplace, leads to five themed islands:
Seuss Landing, charming and non-threatening for young children and
timid adults; The Lost Continent, with possibly the world's scariest
ride in Dueling Dragons; Jurassic Park, so spectacular that Stephen
Spielberg, who helped create it was impressed when he saw it; Toon
Lagoon, wacky fun with comic-strip characters; and Marvel Super Hero
Island, home to scary stuff like
Doctor Doom's Fearfall and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.
