The Yunnan
Province is appealing to international visitors because because it is home to
many "ethnic minorities," as the former tribes are known in Chinese-English.
Many wear traditional dress, especially in the countryside and for festivals or
tourism events. National authorities give the number as "26
nationalities."
Ecotourism Highlighted
Southwestern China's Yunnan province
has adopted ecotoutism as its direction for development. Highland Ecotourism
Itineraries can be arranged out of Kunming, with an excursion that takes
visitors to Dali, where "mountains are green in all four seasons" and the Erhai
Lake, known for its jade-green color and its mystical qualities.
