Cozumel 
The Cozumel Country Club opened last December, giving this destination its first golf course. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this course was built around the environment offering golfers a challenging eco-friendly experience.

New additions to the Punta Sur Ecological Park, which encompasses 247 acres of mangroves jungles, beaches and coral reefs, include new observation towers and a new snorkeling center.

New hotels on the island include the 90-room Casa Mexicana Cozumel and the 300-room all-inclusive Iberostar. Several hotels have recently undergone renovations including: a $10 million addition to the El Cozumeleno featuring 154 new rooms and two new pools. Mexico City  
A multi-million dollar refurbishment of Historic Mexico City is underway. The Historic Center was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Planned improvements include the refurbishment of eighty 18th- and 19th-century buildings for use as apartments and commercial buildings. The Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest in Latin America, has just undergone extensive renovation and has been removed from the ranks of the 100 most endangered sites in the world.

The first Six Flags theme park in Latin America, Six Flags Mexico is now open. The park is part of a massive conversion and expansion of Reino Aventura, a popular amusement park, and will feature over 20 new rides, shows and attractions.

New emissions standards are being strictly enforced and this has lead to a 500 percent reduction in air pollution over the past year.
