Puerto Vallarta's Starry Nights

There
is currently a total of five properties and 647 rooms in the GEMS of Barbados
program. They are divided among Time Out at the Gap, The Savannah,
Blue Horizon, Worthing Court and Silver Rock .
Landscaping for all properties is lush,
beautifully punctuated with water features, fountains and plenty of greenery and
hibiscus. Bathroom fixtures are first rate, faucets work like butter. Mini
fridges keep things properly cold; amenities are the kind you want to tuck in
your bag and take home; remote-controlled air-conditioners and fans work almost
silently, cooling or warming to the exact degree set.
Time Out at the Gap
Time Out at the Gap targets
singles and couples who want to stay in the midst of a casual, happening
place -- in this case, the island's fun and funky St. Lawrence Gap. Some
of the perks of upscale resorts are available, such as beach access,
spacious, clean, efficient, functional rooms, cable TVs, hair dryers and
mini fridges. |

Savannah
A
former guest house, Savannah has just 21 rooms. Each one is different.
High ceilings, four-poster mahogany beds, plantation shutters, brass
hardware, antiques and live orchids create a gracious, guest-house
ambiance enhanced by the superb decor of interior designer Carol
Cadogan. |

Silver Rock Hotel
Further along the south coast is the
high energy 70-room Silver Rock Hotel, a windsurfer's promised land
located on on eof the best surfing beaches in the Caribbean and offering
extreme water sports such as wind surfing, ocean kayaking, mountain
biking, rockwall climbing, scuba diving and kite surfing.

Blue
Horizon
Located on the
south coast, this 110-room property appeals to families as it has
one-bedroom apartments, and studios as well as standard rooms. Most have
full kitchen facilities. There are two pools, a restaurant serving creole
and local cuisine and Rockley Beach is just across the street.

Worthing
Court
On the south coast,
Worthing Court has six one-bedroom apartments, nine deluxe studio
apartments with kitchens and nine standard apartments with refrigerators.
There is an on-site restaurant, Doreen's Kitchen, and a pool. Worthing
Beach is opposite the hotel. |

All the GEMS properties offer guests
reduced green fees and preferential tee times at the Barbados Golf Club.
